A year into the pandemic, I was lying on my bathroom floor at 2am, facing one of my biggest fears, alone.

I know you’re not supposed to, but I finally worked up the courage to Google what I had been seeing and I was terrified by what I found: My three-year-old daughter had started to exhibit symptoms of epilepsy. Not ‘Grand Mal’ epilepsy – but still, epilepsy.

At the start of the pandemic, my father had also succumbed to clinical anxiety and depression after 15 years of it being in remission. He had been staying with us until it was too hard to manage and we had to get help. They described it as the beginnings of dementia.

Laying there on that floor thinking about the future for me, my father, my daughter… I was sick. I couldn’t breathe. I was completely overwhelmed. I had no idea what to do next or who to talk to, where to go or if I could handle any of it. All I knew was if I got past that moment, I vowed to never stop searching for the resources to make them well.

Well, here I am. This website has been built because I never want to see you sick with worry, unable to breathe, alone on your bathroom floor. How I hope to help you is with a team that can get you through anything and that team includes me.

I believe, instead of seeing the medical system, integrative, functional or alternative therapies as islands, it’s in all of our best interest to bring them together as a whole.

Inside this site I have listed a variety doctors and practitioners who are not only discovering new therapies but who are open to working with other therapies, to complement their own. Because they know that being healthy is not ‘a one-size fits all situation’  – From health related stuff to heartbreak – these are some of the most competent and real people on the planet who can greatly contribute to your healing.

/ Sound Therapy

is a practice that uses vibrations and frequencies to promote relaxation, emotional and physical healing at a cellular level. Our body is made up of vibrational frequencies so when I found out about my daughter’s condition, I reached out to sound therapy practitioners Sandra Sweetman and Catherine Varga. When used properly, sound healing is a gentle therapy that can help you feel safe and in control.  Paired with music, it is my number one quick ‘go-to’ tool in achieving peace during turbulent times.

Here’s some research:

/ Energy Work

is a term used to describe a variety of healing techniques that treat the mind, body, and soul – often referred to as alternative or complementary therapies. There is currently a growing body of research discussing the benefits of energy therapies for a host of health reasons. Massage, Shiatsu, Reiki, Acupuncture, Acupressure are just a few examples that are used independently for overall wellness and/or to support conventional medicine. I myself am a big fan of traditional Chinese medicine that has been practiced for thousands of years to increase circulation, promote detoxification,  decrease inflammation and reducing overall stress.

/ Herbalist

refers to the traditional practice based on the use of plants and plant extracts and is one of the earliest systems of medicine otherwise known as nature’s big pharma. I worked closely with herbalist Katherine Leeson during the tail end of the pandemic when my daughter went back to school for the first time. Her wealth of knowledge in traditional Chinese medicine, women’s issues and boosting the overall immune system, were instrumental in keeping all of us well during cold and flu season.

Here’s a bunch of articles that discuss its use, but make sure you have guidance from someone who knows:
